Howdy. I’m Neva Andrews author of the Jo Barkley books.
Glad you stopped by. I’d like to show you around here at Mountain Magic
Ranch in the beautiful Colorado foothills. This is where I hang out and do
my writing. We raise Missouri Fox Trotters. That is, my son and
daughter-in-law do. I like to think I’m part of the operation as I help
feed the horses and putter around the flower beds. They probably think my
greatest contribution is cooking, though I’d rather be outside with my
hands on a horse or in the dirt. Come by in the spring, and we’ll walk
up on the hill where the blue flax blooms.
For now, I invite you to browse my website to see what interests we have in common. I grew up on a small farm in the 1930s. I’d love to swap stories with you Over the Back Fence. Horses were a big part of my life until my early twenties. I not only rode, I also drove horses on farm equipment. When you read Horse Experiences, perhaps you’ll think of horse experiences you’d like to share.
My late husband and I served with Wycliffe Bible Translators for forty-five years. We went to the jungles of southern Mexico for training. Then we lived with the Northern Paiutes for ten years, studying their language and doing preliminary translation of the Scriptures. Our Missionary Experiences were not exotic, but you might find them interesting.
After retirement, I began to indulge my life-long desire
to write. Of course, I’d been writing off and on while serving as a
missionary and rearing five wonderful children. Now, I wanted to see if I
could write something worth publishing. I took a correspondence course
with The Institute of Children’s
Literature and began attending the Colorado Christian Writers’
Conference and reading books about the
craft of writing. Neva’s Writing Journey chronicles some of the things
I’ve learned on my journey toward publication.
